Kylie Jenner faces backlash over outfit fans say copies Lily-Rose Depp

Kylie Jenner is facing criticism from fans who claim her latest red-carpet look copies the style of Lily-Rose Depp, the former girlfriend of Jenner’s current partner, Timothée Chalamet.

Jenner attended the Los Angeles premiere of The Moment on Thursday, January 29, marking her movie debut. For the event, the 28-year-old wore an outfit from Maison Margiela’s Spring 2026 collection, moving away from her usual glamorous style.

She wore an ivory backless halter-neck crop top with ruffles, paired with a long black satin skirt that appeared to be taped at the waist. Jenner styled her hair in a slicked-back bun and opted for nude-toned makeup.

Soon after photos surfaced online, fans began comparing the outfit to one worn by Depp at the U.K. premiere of The King in 2019. The film starred both Depp and Chalamet and is loosely based on William Shakespeare’s Henriad plays. Chalamet played King Henry V, while Depp portrayed Catherine of Valois.

Social media users were quick to share their opinions. One fan wrote, “Lily did it better.” Another added, “I don’t understand how Kylie isn’t embarrassed being a copycat.” Others accused Jenner of deliberately copying Depp’s look, with comments like, “She’s trying to be Lily-Rose so bad.”

Some users also criticized the outfit itself. On Reddit, one person joked that it looked like it was made with “napkins and a roll of Scotch tape.” Another said the skirt resembled a quick costume from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Others questioned why such a wealthy celebrity would wear something they felt looked cheap.

This is not the first time Jenner has faced copycat claims. In the past, fans have pointed out similarities between her fashion choices and Depp’s, including an almost identical Chanel one-piece swimsuit. Some have also accused Jenner of copying Depp’s selfie poses.

So far, Jenner has not responded to the criticism.
