Yvonne Lime, Actress and Child Advocate, Dies at 90

Yvonne Lime, an actress who appeared alongside Elvis Presley and Katharine Hepburn before dedicating her life to child welfare, has died. She was 90.

Lime died Friday, according to Childhelp, the national nonprofit organization she co-founded. The organization said she “passed away peacefully.” The cause of death was not disclosed.

Born and raised in Glendale, California, Lime graduated from the Pasadena Playhouse before beginning a Hollywood career in the 1950s and 1960s. Her first film role came in 1956 with The Rainmaker, starring Katharine Hepburn and Burt Lancaster.

In 1957, Lime appeared opposite Elvis Presley in Loving You. During production, the two briefly dated, and Presley reportedly invited her to spend Easter weekend at Graceland that year. Earlier in 1957, Lime also played the girlfriend of Michael Landon in the cult classic I Was a Teenage Werewolf.

Lime later shifted away from acting. In 1969, she married television producer Don Fedderson and went on to serve as president and CEO of his company, Don Fedderson Productions. In that role, she managed the rights to several well-known television series, including The Betty White Show, Family Affair, and My Three Sons.

Beyond entertainment, Lime became widely known for her philanthropic work. She co-founded Childhelp, an organization devoted to helping abused, neglected, and at-risk children, and remained closely involved with its mission for decades.

Yvonne Lime is remembered for her early Hollywood career and her lasting commitment to protecting children and supporting families in need.
