Quinton Aaron Hospitalized After Collapse, Condition Now Stable

Quinton Aaron, best known for playing Michael Oher in the 2009 hit film The Blind Side, has been hospitalized in Atlanta after collapsing at his home. The 41-year-old actor was initially reported to be on life support due to a severe blood infection, though his condition has since stabilized.

A GoFundMe page set up on Aaron’s behalf said he was placed on life support following the sudden medical emergency. However, his manager later confirmed that Aaron is now stable and able to communicate with others.

According to his manager, Aaron fell last week while walking up the stairs in his apartment. The cause of his legs buckling remains unclear, and further details about the incident have not yet been made public.

In a statement to The Daily Mail, Aaron’s manager, Katrina Fristoe, asked for privacy on behalf of the family. “The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of support from fans and the media but respectfully requests privacy during this time,” she said. Fristoe added that Aaron is receiving excellent medical care and is currently surrounded by family members. A further update will be shared once his condition improves.

At the time of publication, the GoFundMe campaign had raised $1,493 of its $10,000 goal. The page described the situation as “sudden, frightening, and overwhelming,” noting that Aaron’s loved ones are facing mounting medical expenses alongside the emotional strain of his recovery.

Aaron rose to international fame for his portrayal of Michael Oher in The Blind Side, which starred Sandra Bullock and earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress. The film was also nominated for Best Picture.

Beyond The Blind Side, Aaron has appeared in films including Mothers and Daughters and Halfway. He also made headlines last year after publicly revealing a dramatic weight loss, sharing his efforts to improve his health.

Fans and colleagues continue to send messages of support as Aaron recovers, with many hoping for a swift and full return to health.
