Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell Reunite for Horror Comedy ‘Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein’

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, the beloved duo behind Nickelodeon classics Good Burger and Kenan & Kel, are teaming up once again — this time for a horror-comedy twist.

The longtime collaborators are set to star in and produce Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein, a new feature inspired by the classic Abbott and Costello monster movies. The project is co-produced by Thompson’s Artists for Artists banner and Range Media Partners, with filming scheduled to begin this summer.

The film follows two delivery drivers whose ordinary night spirals into chaos when a routine drop-off leads them to a creepy, out-of-place castle. After accidentally awakening Frankenstein’s monster, the pair must fight to survive the night, blending slapstick humor with old-school monster mayhem.

The screenplay is written by Jonah Feingold (At Midnight, 31 Candles). Thompson and Mitchell are producing alongside John Ryan Jr., Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Carter Swan, with Will Hariton, Azim Spicer, and Monica Weber serving as executive producers. Range Media Partners will handle international sales.

Thompson announced the project during an appearance on Prime Video’s Good Sports, calling the film a natural next step in their creative partnership.

“Kel and I have always loved finding new ways to work together, and this project felt like the perfect mix of nostalgia, comedy, and something completely unexpected,” Thompson said. “We’re excited to bring a fresh take on a classic monster story and have some fun doing it.”

Mitchell echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the duo’s enduring chemistry.

“Coming back together always feels natural, and this lets us tap into everything people love about our dynamic while trying something totally new,” he said. “It’s funny, it’s scary, and it’s a great ride.”

Thompson, a longtime cast member on Saturday Night Live, first met Mitchell while working on Nickelodeon’s sketch series All That. The pair went on to become pop-culture staples through Kenan & Kel (1996–2000), the original Good Burger film in 1997, and most recently Good Burger 2 in 2023.

With Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein, the duo is leaning into nostalgia while pushing into new territory — offering fans a reunion that mixes comedy, horror, and the unmistakable chemistry that made them ’90s icons.
