Franky Venegas was arrested Wednesday night in Naples, Florida, on a drug-related charge and is currently being held at the Collier County Jail, according to law enforcement.
Police say Venegas was booked on one count of drug paraphernalia. He posed for a new mugshot during the booking, which showed his distinctive face tattoos. At this time, he has not been granted bond and is on a mandatory 24-hour hold.
The reason for the hold is tied to a previous arrest. Venegas is already out on bond from a February case involving a firearm with an altered serial number. While a drug charge from that earlier arrest was later dropped, the firearm charge remains active.
According to a sheriff’s report from February, deputies pulled over a yellow Corvette after it allegedly ran a stop sign. Officers claimed they found a bag containing suspected Oxycodone on the passenger-side floorboard. Venegas reportedly denied that the drugs were his and said he had a prescription but did not have it with him at the time.
Police also said they discovered a brown handbag containing a blue, spray-painted handgun with no serial number, along with a cut straw and credit cards in Venegas’ name. Another straw with a white powdery substance was allegedly found in the center console of the car.
Venegas rose to fame in 2021 alongside his twin brother, Alex, after their song “I’m an Island Boy” went viral on social media. The sudden fame made them internet sensations almost overnight.
This is not Venegas’ first run-in with the law. He has previously been arrested for domestic battery, reckless driving, and driving without a license.
As of now, Venegas remains in custody while authorities continue to process the latest charge.
