Last week, Chris Noth rang in 2026 by posting a gym selfie with a high-energy caption: “F&@k new years – LETS GO!!!!” The post quickly drew attention in the comments, including one remark that took an apparent swipe at Parker.
“You mean fcuk sjp & her award right? lol,” a fan wrote, seemingly referencing Parker’s recent honor. Noth replied with a single word that set off speculation: “Right.”
The response raised eyebrows, especially since it came just days after Parker received the Golden Globes’ Carol Burnett Award for outstanding contributions to television at the Jan. 6 “Golden Eve” ceremony in Los Angeles. Several of Parker’s Sex and the City co-stars — Kristin Davis, David Eigenberg, and Evan Handler — attended the event, but Noth did not.
Noth famously played Mr. Big, the on-again, off-again love interest of Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw, across all six seasons of Sex and the City and its two feature films. His role in the revival series And Just Like That... was brief after the character was killed off in the premiere episode.
Shortly after the revival debuted, Noth was accused of sexual assault by two women, allegations he denied. As a result, scenes featuring Mr. Big were reportedly removed from the Season 1 finale before it aired in 2022. The series ultimately wrapped last year after three seasons.
Despite his controversial exit from the franchise, Noth’s Instagram reply struck many fans as out of character. Until now, he had publicly appeared to be supportive of Parker.
In a 2021 interview with The Guardian, Noth defended Parker amid long-running reports of tension between her and former co-star Kim Cattrall, who largely opted out of the revival aside from a brief Season 2 cameo.
“I’m very close with SJ,” Noth said at the time. “I don’t like to see anyone talking down about her because she’s a target and people can be nasty. I feel very protective of her.”
Whether Noth’s comment was meant as a joke, sarcasm, or a genuine dig remains unclear. But the brief exchange was enough to reignite conversation around the complicated legacy of Sex and the City — and the evolving relationships between the stars who helped make it iconic.
