Bam Margera Footage Cleared for New ‘Jackass’ Movie as Talks Continue

The door to Jackass may finally be cracking open again for Bam Margera.

Sources tell TMZ that negotiations were successful in clearing old and never-before-seen footage featuring Bam for the newly announced Jackass movie. While it’s still unclear whether Bam will shoot any brand-new scenes or stunts, the fact that his footage has been approved is a major step forward.

Producers behind the franchise reportedly reached out to Bam’s representatives late last year to discuss a new installment. The upcoming movie is expected to play like a “greatest hits” edition — blending classic stunts fans know and love with unseen footage from the past, along with some fresh material.

Right now, the studio is still in talks with Bam’s lawyer to finalize the use of his older footage. If that deal is fully locked in, sources say it could open the door to Bam possibly returning for new stunts as well.

Bam, who has publicly said many times that he would never work with Jackass again, has agreed to enter negotiations — though insiders say he remains very hesitant. People close to him believe that if he’s brought in as a creative partner and given a real voice in the process, his stance could soften.

There’s also hope that repairing personal relationships could make a difference. Those around Bam think that getting him back in the same room with Johnny Knoxville and the rest of the crew might finally squash long-standing tensions — especially now that Bam is sober and reportedly doing well.

Another source believes a reunion could happen if both sides come together, Bam takes accountability for past issues, and recognizes that the Jackass team felt they were acting in his best interest at the time.

Bam was famously removed from the previous Jackass film after producers alleged he violated his contract, which included a requirement that he remain sober. That led to Bam filing a wrongful termination lawsuit in 2022 against Paramount, Knoxville, and director Jeff Tremaine. The case was later settled, but Bam continued to speak out publicly about his anger toward the franchise.

Despite that history, signs of reconciliation have appeared recently. Last year, Bam reunited with Tony Hawk and returned to the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise. In December, he also reconnected with former Jackass costar Chris Pontius.

Johnny Knoxville officially announced the new Jackass movie on Wednesday, confirming it’s set for release in June. Whether Bam Margera appears only through archived footage or makes a full-on return remains to be seen — but for fans, even the possibility marks a dramatic turn in a long and rocky saga.
