Amanda Seyfried Says Husband Thomas Sadoski ‘Sacrifices a Lot’ as Her Career Soars

Amanda Seyfried is opening up about the support she receives from her husband, Thomas Sadoski, during one of the busiest periods of her career.

In a new interview with Vogue published on Jan. 8, the 40-year-old actress shared how Sadoski has stood by her as she takes on major new projects. Seyfried said her husband “sacrifices a lot” so she can focus on work, adding that he understands just how rare her current opportunities are.

“He also knows that, in this moment, the opportunities I’m being afforded are insane,” she said. Seyfried noted that even with the momentum, she still turns down many roles to maintain balance.

Seyfried is currently earning awards buzz for her performance in The Testament of Ann Lee. She was nominated for Best Actress at the Critics Choice Awards earlier this month and is also a double nominee at the upcoming Golden Globe Awards, including recognition for her role in Long Bright River. She is also starring in upcoming projects like The Housemaid, further cementing her strong run.

While Seyfried’s career is in high gear, Sadoski has continued working steadily as well. He last appeared in the 2025 film Adult Children, following roles in the 2024 series American Sports Story and the film Lilly. In 2023, both actors starred in the limited series The Crowded Room, which was directed and executive produced by Mona Fastvold and her husband, Brady Corbet.

Seyfried and Sadoski first met in 2015 while starring in the off-Broadway play The Way We Get By, where they played two strangers who connect after a wedding. That same year, they also portrayed love interests in the film The Last Word. Their real-life relationship began in early 2016, and they became engaged later that year.

The couple married in March 2017, just one week before welcoming their daughter, Nina, now 8. They later welcomed a son, Thomas, in 2020.

Today, Seyfried and Sadoski live with their children on a farmhouse in upstate New York. During the summer of 2024, the family stayed closely connected while Seyfried filmed The Testament of Ann Lee in Europe. Fastvold shared that the children on set essentially had a “summer camp,” with spouses taking turns caring for them and organizing small trips.

For Seyfried, the experience highlights how much teamwork goes into making a demanding career work. With Sadoski’s support at home, she continues to navigate her success while keeping family at the center of her life.
