Actor James Ransone, best known for his standout role on The Wire, has died at the age of 46.

The Los Angeles Medical Examiner confirmed that Ransone died by suicide on Friday. Authorities say officers responded to a call at a residence, completed a death investigation report, and found no signs of foul play.

His breakout came with The Wire, where he played Ziggy Sobotka during the show’s second season.
