Camp shared the news in a new podcast interview released on March 9, 2026, during an appearance on I've Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario. In the interview, she spoke candidly about what she described as a recent period of personal “evolution” in her life.
“As a 43-year-old woman, I am very proud of myself for owning my sexuality at this age,” Camp said in an exclusive clip from the podcast. She acknowledged that being open about her identity in the public eye felt like a risk, but added that it was a step she wanted to take for her own happiness.
Camp explained that her decision to speak openly about her sexuality reflects a broader shift in how she views her life and personal growth.
“I could have settled. I could have said, ‘No, I’m done evolving,’” she said. “But I only get one life and I want to be happy.”
A Gradual Journey to Coming Out
Although this marks the first time Camp has publicly labeled herself as bisexual, she had already been “casually” out and in a relationship with a woman for nearly a year.
The actor previously hinted at her identity in late 2025 during an interview with Out Magazine, where she admitted she felt some guilt for not embracing her sexuality earlier in life. She attributed part of that hesitation to expectations from her upbringing.
In her latest interview, Camp suggested that coming out later in life has been a meaningful and empowering experience.
Relationship With Jade Whipkey
Camp has been in a relationship with writer and stylist Jade Whipkey, 24, since at least May 2025. Their relationship became public that month after a TikTok interview clip went viral.
In the video, Camp gestured toward Whipkey and joked, “I don’t expect anything from a guy anymore because I’m dating a woman, and it’s great.”
The couple later made their first official public appearance together in June 2025 at the premiere of Camp’s film Bride Hard.
Past Relationships
Before her current relationship, Camp was married to her Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin. The pair married in 2016 and divorced in 2019.
She was previously married to actor Michael Mosley from 2010 to 2013.
Joining Other Pitch Perfect Stars Living Openly
Camp’s announcement also places her among other Pitch Perfect stars who have publicly shared their identities. Her co-star Rebel Wilson came out in 2022 and later married her partner, fashion designer Ramona Agruma.
For Camp, the decision to publicly identify as bisexual represents both personal growth and a commitment to living authentically.
Speaking on the podcast, she emphasized that embracing who she is now feels like the right step forward in her life.
