LaBeouf and Goth quietly separated in 2025 after approximately nine years of marriage. The former couple share a daughter, Isabel, who was born in 2022. Neither LaBeouf nor Goth has released a public statement about the split.
Conflicting Claims About the Breakup
Sources close to LaBeouf told TMZ that the relationship “just didn’t work out” and rejected claims that the actor was responsible for the separation. According to those sources, LaBeouf still cares deeply for Goth and remains actively involved in their daughter’s life.
An insider said LaBeouf has been living in New Orleans to care for his family but continues to see Isabel frequently. The source also claimed he was present for their daughter while Goth was busy with work commitments.
However, sources close to Goth strongly dispute that narrative. They deny her work played any role in the breakup and instead point to LaBeouf’s ongoing personal struggles — particularly his drinking — as a central issue.
One insider alleged that while LaBeouf made small efforts to improve, each step forward was followed by “10 steps back.” Goth reportedly cares about him but did not feel he was making meaningful progress in addressing his issues.
Legal Troubles in New Orleans
The split comes amid new legal problems for LaBeouf.
New Orleans police recently obtained a new warrant for his arrest following an incident on February 17. He was initially arrested on two counts of simple battery after allegedly hitting multiple people and using homophobic slurs at a bar in the Marigny neighborhood. Authorities have since added a third alleged victim tied to the same altercation.
A judge set LaBeouf’s bond at $100,000 and expressed concern about his alleged alcohol addiction. As part of his release conditions, he has been ordered to:
• Enroll in substance abuse treatment
• Undergo weekly drug and alcohol testing
• Avoid contact with the alleged victims and the bar involved
The judge also denied his request to travel to Rome in March for religious observations, citing the need for immediate rehabilitation.
Sources close to Goth say she hopes LaBeouf seeks professional help, including entering rehab, so he can be a healthy presence in their daughter’s life.
Past Legal History
In July 2025, LaBeouf reached an undisclosed out-of-court settlement with his former partner FKA twigs, whose legal name is Tahliah Barnett. The settlement ended a high-profile lawsuit filed in 2020 that alleged physical and emotional abuse.
Following his separation from Goth, LaBeouf relocated to New Orleans, while Goth has continued working internationally.
Despite their personal differences, both are reportedly focused on co-parenting Isabel and maintaining stability for her during this period.
As legal proceedings continue, representatives for LaBeouf and Goth have not issued formal public comments.
