In an interview with Cosmopolitan for the magazine’s 2026 Love Issue, Sweeney recalled watching Pitt casually spend time with members of the transportation department during filming.
“I remember on the set of Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood, I watched Brad Pitt sit and hang out with the transpo department,” Sweeney said. “I absolutely loved that, and I was like, ‘Yeah, you have to respect everybody in your life.’”
Sweeney said the moment reflected a value she tries to live by. “I’ve always led with love,” she explained. “I’ve always believed that love is love in every single form. You should be kind to whoever you meet.”
The actress appeared in the 2019 Quentin Tarantino film as Snake, a member of the Manson Family cult. The movie follows fading television star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt) as they navigate a changing Hollywood in the late 1960s and cross paths with Charles Manson and his followers.
Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood featured several actors who later broke out, including Mikey Madison, Margaret Qualley, Austin Butler, Maya Hawke and Victoria Pedretti.
That same year, Sweeney also gained widespread attention for her role as Cassie Howard on HBO’s Euphoria.
Sweeney told Cosmopolitan that playing Cassie marked the beginning of people forming assumptions about her personal beliefs based on her characters. She said some viewers struggle to separate her from roles that involve “questionable” choices.
“It’s definitely not a comfortable thing to have people saying what you believe or think, especially when that doesn’t align with you,” she said. “It’s been a weird thing having to navigate and digest, because it’s not me. None of it is me.”
The 28-year-old added that the public scrutiny has reached an unhealthy level and said she hopes to move past the idea that she is a “hateful person,” something she says does not reflect who she really is.
