Bella Hadid Criticizes Dolce & Gabbana Over Milan Fashion Week Casting

Supermodel Bella Hadid has publicly criticized Dolce & Gabbana following the brand’s recent Menswear Fall/Winter 2026–2027 runway show during Milan Fashion Week.

The 29-year-old model took to Instagram over the weekend after a video circulated online highlighting that the Italian fashion house appeared to cast only white male models for the show, which took place on Saturday, January 17. In the comments, Hadid did not hold back.

“Shocked people actually support this company still it’s embarrassing,” she wrote, calling out not just the models but also “stylists / casting the whole damn thing.”

She later followed up with another comment, adding, “beeeen cancelled…. years of racism sexism bigotry xenophobia … how are we shocked still ?”

Hadid has long been vocal about social justice issues and is known for using her platform to speak out on topics she believes in, even when it sparks controversy.

Dolce & Gabbana founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have faced multiple public controversies over the years. In 2013, the designers were convicted of tax evasion, a ruling that later became one of the most high-profile legal cases in the fashion industry.

Two years later, they drew widespread backlash from celebrities and advocacy groups for comments criticizing IVF and non-traditional families. In 2018, the brand again came under fire after allegedly racist remarks targeting China surfaced online. At the time, the designers claimed their social media accounts had been hacked and released an apology video, which was later deleted.

Neither Dolce & Gabbana nor its representatives have publicly responded to Hadid’s latest remarks at the time of publication.

Hadid’s comments have since reignited debate online about diversity, accountability, and representation within the global fashion industry, particularly at major events like Milan Fashion Week.
